One hint you live in Southern California

...your FB feed is filled with pictures and stories after a 30 minute thunder storm that only produced .15". Either that or you know a lot of people living here.

In our defense we are in the midst of a serious drought and summer rain is an oddity for most of the region. Especially accompanied with lightening and thunder.

And I am not exaggerating when I say it hit within seconds of the dismissal bell ringing. The kids walked out and the skies opened up. Followed seconds later by a bolt of lightening directly over the school (okay maybe it just seemed that way).

J and I walked home the whopping 2 blocks. Can you tell how miserable he was about it?

Most people felt pretty much the same way from the laughter I heard leaving the school. And the best part was the temperature drop of about 20 degrees. A welcome relief after a week of 100+ degree temperatures.

This morning I surveyed the damage to the yard.

Storage shed door blew off

Lawn furniture and mats blown all over the place.

It took me all of 10 minutes to tidy up.

We fared a little better with Hurricane Odile than Baja California did. Hope our neighbors to the south recover soon.
